This is a new electronic news and information site primarily for the people of East Gippsland although much of the information and discussion may have relevance or be of interest to other Regional and Rural communities through out Australia.
The objective of CourtneyEastGippsland.com is to provide a focal point for the detailed reporting of factual news events which may not be covered in detail by other media or which may not be covered at all. It is also designed to inform the community on issues of public interest and to promote discussion between individuals and groups on matters which affect their daily lives. It will be a focal point for individuals and groups within East Gippsland to communicate on issues affecting the whole of East Gippsland.
CourtneyEastGippsland.com will give a voice to the community and will investigate and report on issues which it believes are relevant and which may be of interest to others and where resources permit, will investigate issues which are raised by readers and contributors through this forum.
Of special importance will be the focus on improving the living standards and amenity of the community of East Gippsland and CourtneyEastGippsland.com will especially welcome articles which are inspirational and offer thought provoking commentary, ideas and suggestions and which promote discussion and debate, to achieve this objective.
CourtneyEastGippsland.com invites articles from persons who can demonstrate that they can produce news and investigative reports which are well written, factual and relevant. Articles or commentary may be of an emotional nature subject to being based on facts which can be readily verified. The site will encourage participation from persons which cover a wide range of views and opinions and will not reject rational articles which have views different to that held by the site administrator(s). Persons submitting articles take responsibility for the article they write.
For persons wishing to put forward articles or statements who feel they don’t have the capacity to write the article themselves, give us the information and we may be able to write it for you. Submit your article or news item or just give an outline and let us contact you, for more detail. All contributors will be required to observe the normal conventions of decency and respect but that will not restrict raising or reporting aggressively on issues which are controversial or personal.
Articles will not be accepted from politicians or aspiring politicians which involves pre-election promotion or persons seeking to promote their business activities. Advertisements of an appropriate nature may be accepted at some time in the future.
Comments are NOT automatically uploaded and are subject to approval by the moderator who will read the comment and approve it for publication if it is relevant and observes normal conventions of decency and respect. Contributions which are deemed to breach these conventions will not be uploaded to the site by the moderator.
Anyone who wishes to comment may use their own name or if you wish to remain anonymous you may use a nomme de plume.
If you wish to bring a matter to our attention or don’t want your comment published, just advise us and we will respect your wishes.
We invite any person to contribute to an article or just a comment. If you wish to have a matter investigated and this will assist the community then simply detail the information you have. If we have the personnel who have the time and the skill to handle the assignment we will do so.
Persons wanting advice on issues which is relevant to life in the region may pose a question to which others may respond or offer advice or suggestions.
Any of the articles or news items published on the site may be copied and printed for personal use.
