Send the site address to friends (and enemies) and acquaintances and promote our region and our businesses. Ask them to pass it on to their friends.
On this page you can post news items and activities for your town or raise issues which may be relevant for other communities.
There is no single newspaper which covers the whole of East Gippsland. As communities we tend to be insular and fragmented. We don’t realise that many issues which confront us are common to many other towns. By communicating with each other we can exchange thoughts and ideas and by working together can achieve more than we do as isolated individuals. Residents of East Gippsland can use this site to communicate with each other on relevant issues and events which are applicable to their town or to the broader community.
Going on-line gives you access to the world.

EG must make up its mind about tourism or industrial development; you can’t have both.
Witness the continuing uglification of Paynesville’s approaches. Soon it will be like that of Bairnsdale’s west which must be the envy of Footscray. And when another residential canal is mooted make sure that the ancient right of way along tidal reaches is not transgressed; make them put up a foot bridge complete with swinging mast passage for yachties.
